This is the front cover of the sale brochure of 'Tara' several years ago

The Eric Cairns Partnership described "Tara House" in their brochure as follows:

This is a magnificent gentleman's residence of some 4,000 sq. ft. plus garaging situated on a spacious and level site backing onto Campbell College (Cabin Hill) grounds in one of Belfast's most exclusive suburbs.

Dating back to the early part of the century much of the original charm and character has been preserved in the form of high corniced ceilings, exposed timber floors, stained glass windows and ornate fireplaces. Add to this a modern "Berwood" kitchen with "Bosch" appliances and you have one of the finest homes that we have on the market at present.

Conveniently situated for Stormont, The Ulster Hospital and central Belfast this is essentially a family home that, on account of its flexibility and size, may have particular appeal to consultants or those who may wish to carry on business from home. Outside the gardens, south facing to the rear, are a feature in themselves and provide something for all the family whether it be for relaxation, recreation or play.

All in all this represents a rare opportunity to acquire a ready made home in what is generally considered to be one of the most sought after residential locations in Belfast close to every conceivable amenity.

As you can see, "Tara House" is set back from the roadway and is quite secluded while being close to all city amenities.

The brochure contained this rear view of "Tara House".

This is a view of the rear of "Tara House". As you can see it is a very spacious dwelling. This was our home and the home my father wished Freddie to enjoy for the remainder of his days. My father made sure that Freddie had the means to maintain it as well.

My father made sure that our large garden was very well maintained. There were lots of shrubs and bushes which made it a very peaceful place to sit, especially in the mild weather.
