Dear Mrs Wright,
I acknowledge receipt of your letter dated 16 May 1989 and am sorry to discover that you have been having problems in respect of matters relating to your brother.
It is indeed a very sad situation and I believe is one that clearly requires to be ventilated and I should like you to know that my union does not support any issue that could be seen to put the interests of justice at risk.
You have my assurance that my union will continue to campaign in the best interests of those who suffer from mental handicap or any mental illness and if there is anything that I can do to assist you in any way, do not hesitate to let me know.
With kindest regards,
