A letter to me from the Lord Chancellor's Department dated 31/1/1984.

Dear Mrs Wright

Thank you for your letter of 28 January, the contents of which I have noted.

As you realise, your brother's affairs are now in the hands of the Court and Mr Hall, as Official Solicitor, is acting under the direction of the Judge.
It would not be appropriate for the Lord Chancellor to intervene in this process.

I suggest that, in all the circumstances, the best way forward is for you to ensure that your legal advisers express your anxieties before the Judge at the hearing on 13 February. I am fully satisfied that Mr Hall is working very hard to avoid further delay in bringing the matter to a conclusion.

Please do not hesitate to write to me again after 13 February if you feel that I may be of assistance.

Yours sincerely

J M STEELE

[Official Solicitor Brian Hall met members of our family and our solicitor. Mr. Hall told us we must not speak until he said the work "Comment". I tried to speak but he shouted that he did not say the word "Comment" so we walked out of the meeting.]
