Re: Betty Hamilton
1 High Street Court, Comber
We refer to the above matter and believe that the Master of the Office of Care and protection has been in contact with your Mr Bradley concerning this matter and that the present situation concering the proposed settlement in relation to Mrs Hamilton's affairs is as follows: [I wonder just how proper it was for the Master - a Judge - to personally contact a solicitor concerning a settlement.]
We believe that your office will be responsible for advising Mrs Hamilton in relation to items 1, 2, and 3 of the Official Solicitor's letter dated 22 February 1988 addressed to our Mr McAteer and that this office will be responsible for advising Mrs Hamilton in relation to the estate of Mrs Minetta Andrews Deceased.
In relation to the release of the Caveat, it is conditional on certain outstanding monies being paid by Mrs Hamilton to the Office of Care and Protection through the Official Solicitor and we presume these monies will be discharged from the estate of Minetta Andrews Deceased. We would therefore be grateful if you would please let us have the authority in relation to these matters.[I wonder just how proper it was for McAteer & Co - solicitors and officers of the Court - to personally contact another solicitor concerning a settlement in which conditions are laid down. This smacks of blackmail.]
We enclose herewith the Consent Form for signature by your client and perhaps, after she has been advised by you [What McAteer & Co really mean is 'after she has been advised by you that she must play the 'game' and give in to our blackmail......] and has signed the form, it could then be returned to us so that we may arrange to obtain her signature in relation to the matters appertaining to the estate of Minetta Andrews Deceased. [Yes, since Mr. McAteer, personally, was appointed as my mother's Committee at the behest of former Official Solicitor Brian Hall, he needs my sister's 'co-operation' to get his hands on my mother's money. What a shower of crooks!]
