A letter form the RUC to Peter Robinson MP dated 8/4/1988.

Dear Sir

I refer to your letter dated 28 March 1988 concerning Mrs Wright, 4 Norwood Gardens, Belmont, Belfast.

As you are aware, the allegations made by Mrs Wright have been thoroughly investigated by police officers. The papers have been placed before the Director of Public Prosecutions for Northern Ireland and he has directed a number of charges against Herbert Wright (Solicitor). This action has been taken after a most careful investigation of all the evidence and consideration of the possible criminal involvement of all persons involved in this matter.

Mrs Wright continues to make various allegations in respect of handling of her brother's affairs. All these allegations have been placed before the investigating officers and Mrs Wright has been advised that if she is able to produce any new evidence which is relevant to the enquiry, then it will be closely considered and reported to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

I trust that these comments are of assistance.

Yours faithfully

J E H McIVOR
Superintendent
for Chief Constable

[This letter must be read in the light of what had just happened at that time during the investigation of the RUC activities by Deputy Manchester Chief Constable John Stalker and was still ongoing after Mr. Stalker was wrongfully taken off his investigation.]
